I had this one sitting on my shelf for a while and I finally decided to dust it off and give it a whirl. I typically don’t hold on to my barrel aged stuff for a really long time so when they have been sitting for a while I tend to get antsy and drink them.
Right off the bat the bourbon smell overtook me. I’m not super into bourbons so I’m not sure if each one has a super distinct smell, but it reminded me greatly of Jim Beam.
The taste hit me with the bourbon up front and finishes off with some roasty chocolate notes with a hint of caramel. The mouth feel was a little thin which was a bummer, but it didn’t dampen my experience much though as overall it was a tasty brew indeed.
